CorkGuard™ technology was trialled by the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI).
Results concluded that corks treated with the CorkGuard™membrane delivered fresh, intense, fruity wine with long persistence on the palate.
By comparison, the same trials showed that wines using alternative closures – including untreated cork,synthetic cork and screw caps – showed undesirable traits.These included aromas created by honey, esters, oxidation characters and higher OD420
Wines using screw caps exhibited reductive aromas from12 months onwards.
The AWRI trial also concluded that the application of the CorkGuard™ membrane dramatically enhanced the performance of lower grade corks to the extent that they outperformed Reference 1 and Reference 2 corks as well as screw caps and synthetic corks.Contact Us
